Apple has announced their new line-up of MacBook Pro and Mac Mini devices which now include the powerful M2, M2 Pro or M2 Max chips.

**New MacBook Pros & Mac Minis with M2, M2 Pro & M2 Max Chips**


Apple announced new MacBook Pros and Mac Minis on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, which include the M2, M2 Pro and M2 Max chips, Apple's most powerful processors yet. The 13-inch MacBook Pro remains the same as last year's already-announced M2 chip. However, the 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pro models now come with either the M2 Pro or M2 Max chip, offering more performance than ever. The Mac Mini now comes with the M2 chip, previously only available with the M1 chip. Apple now offers the Mac Mini with an M2 or M2 Pro chip, but not the M2 Max.

All the new MacBook Pros and Mac Minis announced are available to pre-order today (January 17, 2023), releasing on Tuesday, January 24, 2023.

**New MacBook Pro with M2, M2 Pro & M2 Max Chips**


New MacBook Pro features up to 6x faster performance than the fastest Intel-based MacBook Pro and supports up to 96GB of unified memory for demanding pro workflows.

Apple announced the new [14](https://www.apple.com/uk/shop/buy-mac/macbook-pro/14-inch) and [16-inch](https://www.apple.com/uk/shop/buy-mac/macbook-pro/16-inch) MacBook Pros that feature the new M2 Pro and M2 Max chips, bringing even more power whilst remaining efficient for the ultimate performance and battery life. The new MacBook Pros can tackle demanding tasks such as effects rendering, which Apple claims are up to 6x faster compared to the fastest Intel-based MacBook Pro, including colour grading, which is claimed to be up to 2x faster. Apple also claimed that the battery life of the new MacBook Pros is now up to 22 hours, the longest battery life ever in a Mac. With Wi-Fi 6E and advanced HDMI ports supporting up to 8K resolution, the MacBook Pros become the ultimate choice for Pro users. With up to an optional 96GB of unified memory, Apple claims "creators can work on scenes so large that PC laptops can't even run them", which is quite the shot. Other important features of the new MacBook Pro include the Liquid Retina XDR display, connectivity, 1080p FaceTime HD camera, a six-speaker sound system, and studio-quality mics.

These next-generation chips enable the Mac Mini to deliver Pro performance for the first time, enabling users to run tasks previously unimaginable for such a compact design. The new Mac Mini delivers faster performance and more unified memory capacity, including advanced connectivity and support for up to 2 displays and up to 3 displays on the M2 Pro model.

Apple announced their next-generation chips, the M2 Pro and M2 Max, taking the company's focus on delivering power-efficient performance to new heights. The M2 Pro delivers up to 12-core CPU and 19-Core GPU paired with up to 32GB of unified memory. The M2 Max takes this to the next level, delivering up to a 38-core GPU, double the unified memory bandwidth, and up to 96GB of unified memory. This makes the M2 Max an industry-leading chip based on performance per watt, which Apple claims is the best for a laptop. Both chips feature enhanced custom technologies, including a faster 16-core Neural Engine.
