Studio Retail Group PLC (Studio Retail Limited’s parent company) released an announcement on the Stock Exchange Monday morning confirming its intention to appoint administrators. This could be bad news for those who purchased a PlayStation 5 console via Studio or Ace (owned by Studio). Currently, the whole website is still operating however, customers cannot make any purchases online. All purchase buttons have been hidden from the site.
This clearly indicates sales are not allowed to be made until the company gets through the challenges it is facing. It is not clear whether customers who purchased a PS5 console via Studio or Ace will receive their consoles (for those who haven’t already) as the information provided by Studio is very brief and doesn’t mention anything about the outcome of the situation. Although, they have told Stock Checker through the affiliate partnership programme that “further communication will follow in due course” which could be some light shed on the situation.
We advise customers not to panic, as Studio will have two choices once things are finalised. They’ll either choose to fulfill orders made before the stock exchange announcement Monday morning, or they could choose to refund orders made if they do not wish to continue operating. Once Stock Checker finds out more information about the situation, we’ll ensure to let you know, especially whether or not PS5’s ordered via the recent drop will be fulfilled or not.
