Retro horror fans will soon be able to add one of indie gaming’s most unsettling experiences to their shelves, as FAITH: The Unholy Trinity is getting a physical PlayStation 5 release later this year.
Originally developed by Airdorf, the cult-favourite trilogy blends lo-fi pixel art with psychological horror, drawing heavily on classic 8-bit games and the “Satanic Scare” era of the 1980s. Despite its deliberately retro presentation, FAITH has built a reputation for delivering genuinely unnerving horror through atmosphere, sound design, and disturbing animated cutscenes.
The boxed PS5 edition launches on August 28, 2026, and includes a range of physical extras for collectors.
Where to Buy
The physical PS5 edition of FAITH: The Unholy Trinity is currently available to pre-order on [Amazon UK](https://amzn.to/4d1A3fk) for £34.99.
For horror fans who missed the game on PC, or collectors looking for a striking addition to their shelf, this release offers one of indie horror’s most memorable modern trilogies in a complete physical package.
What’s Included in the Physical Edition?
Players picking up the retail release will receive:
• 8-page booklet
• Mock newspaper clipping
• Folded poster
• Sticker sheet
• Digital soundtrack download code
The package gives PlayStation collectors a little more than just the game disc, leaning into the eerie presentation and occult themes that helped FAITH become a breakout indie horror success.
Three Chapters of Retro Horror
The PS5 release includes the complete Unholy Trinity experience, bringing together all three chapters of the series.
FAITH
The story begins with a young priest returning to the site of a failed exorcism one year after a horrifying incident left only two survivors alive. Haunted by nightmares and searching for answers, he soon discovers the evil never truly left.
FAITH: Chapter II
After narrowly surviving terrifying paranormal encounters, the priest is pulled deeper into a new nightmare filled with possessed entities, cult activity, and increasingly disturbing revelations.
FAITH: Chapter III
The final chapter sees the priest travelling through dark rural landscapes alongside a mysterious stranger in an attempt to stop a Satanic cult from summoning an immensely powerful demon.
Each chapter includes updated content, multiple endings, hidden lore, handcrafted animated sequences, custom music, and the unforgettable “MORTIS” moments fans of the series will instantly recognise.
A Horror Game Built on Atmosphere
What makes FAITH stand out is how effectively it uses simplicity. The game’s Atari-inspired visuals might look minimal at first glance, but they leave plenty of room for the player’s imagination to fill in the blanks. Combined with distorted audio, religious symbolism, and sudden bursts of rotoscope-style animation, the trilogy creates a constant sense of dread.
The official description sums up the experience well:
“What you are about to do has not been approved by the Vatican.”
Players use a holy crucifix to perform exorcisms, fend off possessed cultists, and cleanse cursed objects while exploring abandoned churches, haunted forests, and isolated homes across rural Connecticut.
Set in September 1986, the story follows two priests investigating an apparent demonic possession at the Martin family home. Only two people leave alive.
