Intel is releasing its desktop and laptop GPU family. Arc Alchemist GPUs will compete against NVIDIA's RTX 30 Series and AMD's RX 6000 Series this year with solutions similar to both teams' red and green. Let's have a closer look at Intel's upcoming GPUs.

**Intel Arc Alchemist Desktop Release Date**
Intel desktop GPUs codenamed **Xe-HPG** expected to reveal in **March 2022**, were delayed without Intel's explanation. Current predictions indicate an August release for the high-end tier, followed by mid and low segments later.

**Intel Arc Alchemist Desktop Pricing and Models**
There is no official or unofficial pricing of Xe-HPG at this point. Still, it's given that Intel will have to price their GPUs lower than NVIDIA and AMD if they want to be competitive. Despite Intel's good standing in the tech world, they are still a "freshman" in the GPU industry. The desktop segment will be divided into **A300**, **A500**, and **A700** (low, mid, and high-end). There will be **seven different models** in total for now. Five officially leaked through Intel's iGPU Beta driver, and two were highly speculated.

Low-tier - A310, A350 and A380
Mid-tier - A580
High-end – A750, A770, A780

**Intel Arc Alchemist Desktop Specs**
Arc Alchemist is built on the company's [Xe-High Performance Graphics](https://www.intel.co.uk/content/www/uk/en/products/docs/arc-discrete-graphics/xe-hpg-microarchitecture.html) architecture, also known as DG2. There is no official info on specifications yet, but we have rumored specifications on some models.

We know Intel GPUs will perform best paired with Intel CPU due to [Deep Link Technology](https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/architecture-and-technology/adaptix/deep-link.html), support Ray Tracing, and have an equivalent of DLSS and FSR called [XeSS](https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/docs/arc-discrete-graphics/xess.html). **XeSS** was supposed to premiere on **May 20** with the release **of Dolmen** (video game).

**Intel Arc Alchemist Desktop Performance**
Intel keeps very quiet about Arc Alchemist's performance. Still, a hardware leaker named [TUM APISAK](https://twitter.com/TUM_APISAK/status/1484342563327062019) found a benchmark of Intel's flagship Arc GPU, **DG-512EU**, on SiSoftware. It indicates Intel scored higher than RTX 3070Ti on the same measure. While we don't know any in-game examples yet, Intel's flagship GPU may compete with **RTX 3080/AMD 6800XT**. Intel is not competing with the upcoming RTX 40 and AMD 7000 Series this year. Intel will upgrade Arc Alchemist's architecture yearly up to at least 2025. We expect intel to play catch up for the first initial years before it can match with NVIDIA and AMD.

**Intel Arc Alchemist Mobile Segment Overview**
Mobile Alchemist **A-series M** will be divided into three tiers, just like its desktop counterparts. Entry-level A300M, mid-A500M, and high-end A700M series. Similar to NVIDIA and AMD, it will include **PCI Express 4.0** connection, **GDDR6** memory, support for **adaptive sync**, and **Ray Tracing**. We already know the specifications of each model thanks to official intel graphics. Arc A-series already partially premiered, available in 2 models, A350M and A370M, in selected laptops, starting at £760. Performance of those chips sits around **NVIDIA GTX 1650 Mobile** level and far exceeds 12th gen intel iGPUs performance. The rest of the A-series M family is expected to be released **in the summer**. The best models will challenge top AMD and NVIDIA mobile GPUs.
