Chorus is the sort of dark, brooding dogfight game that will soon have you contemplating the cold indifference of the universe and our place among it. You play as Nara, pilot of a sentient fighter spacecraft named Forsaken. You used to be a cultist enforcer, but you've turned on your masters in the Circle in an attempt to end their sinister reign. It's moody stuff, but the gameplay is all bum-tightening breakneck action. The AI is tough as nails and will stick to you like glue, and you'll often find yourself flying inside through giant temples or inside the hulls of star destroyer. It helps that Forsaken can pick up special powers known as 'Rites', that enable you to do extremely cool things like teleport behind enemies for surprise kills. While in the early parts of the game you'll lean on weapons such as your gatling gun, laser blaster and missiles, but developer Fishlabs says that by the end of the game you'll be able to win fights using only your Rites. Beyond the zero-g dogfights there's also a puzzle element to gameplay that also leans on your Rites, while the dark narrative brings it all together into an exhilarating, eerie whole.
